By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside other mental health professionals, including Psychologists, Clinical Social Workers, and Licensed Clinical Therapists. You will also receive clinical consultation, administrative support as well as the flexibility to create your own schedule to maintain a positive work-life balance (1 full-time opportunitiy available).

Summary of Position:

The Child Mental Health Therapist is a valuable member of our multidisciplinary team, providing care to children and youth with mental health, behavioral and/ or developmental issues, and their families. The Child Mental Health Therapist provides individual child therapy, treatment recommendations, and support for the parents.

  • Conducts intake assessments for all new clients
  • Develops individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients
  • Maintains clinical documentation/records as required by your regulatory College
  • Experience in clinical assessment and therapy
  • Administers best practice standards in all client sessions
  • Establishes culturally competent behavioral health services
  • Strong organizational and case management skills
  • Provides client with community resources and referrals, when needed
  • Provides education and support to family members of a client, when needed
  • Participates in group clinical consultation
  • Provides crisis intervention, when needed
  • Manages their own availability and schedule
  • Proficiency in Jane app (an asset)
  • Collaborates with parents and caregivers
  • Performs other duties as assigned such as blog writing, PsychologyToday management, etc.
Couples to Cradles Mental Health Therapists Must Possess
  • Have training in any of the following areas: anxiety, depression, trauma (EMDR/ART preferred) child and adolescent counselling
  • Hold a Master’s Degree or higher and registration in good standing with your regulatory body (College of Psychologists, College of Social Work, etc)
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 2 years recent post-degree experience working with Children and Adolescents in an in-patient or out-patient setting required
  • Ability to contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues.
  • Have 3+ years of experience in psychoeducational assessments (an asset)
  • Have 3+ years of experience providing therapy to children, teens and parents (an asset)
  • Have 3+ years post graduate experience (an asset)
