Amber Koganow

Canadian certified counsellor
Beginning first week of October
Virtual & In Person
Across Canada (except Quebec)

I strive to help parents overcome overwhelming stress, anxiety, and relational challenges that often accompany parenthood. The problem I address is the struggle to maintain balance and emotional well-being while navigating the demands of parenting and relationships.

My approach utilizes a person-centered, humanistic framework to therapy, combining elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Mindfulness-based Therapy (MBT). My goal is to provide individualized and holistic solutions that empower parents and clients to develop practical strategies, shift their mindset, and cultivate inner calm. Collaboratively, we’ll identify effective strategies to enhance communication, manage stress, and foster emotional resilience.

The outcome is a more mindful and resilient approach to parenting, fostering a balanced family life where parents feel empowered, connected, and ready to face any challenges that arise.

More than My Work

When I am not working with clients, I find a deep sense of ease in activities that help me stay grounded and connected. Whether it's practicing yoga, spending time with my kids and family, immersing myself in a good book, or enjoying the peacefulness of the lake in the mountains, these moments bring me balance and rejuvenation. Exercising also plays a key role in maintaining my own well-being, allowing me to bring my best self into my work with clients.
