Amber Koganow
As both a mother and a bonus mom, I have personally experienced the emotional and mental challenges that often accompany parenting. My journey includes navigating postpartum mental health struggles, co-parenting dynamics, and the unique role of being a stepparent, as well as the grief of pregnancy loss and the profound difficulty of reconciling life’s realities with our expectations. These experiences have not only shaped who I am but have also fueled my dedication to supporting other parents through the pivotal moments of their own journeys. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping you find balance and resilience. I draw on a blend of evidence-based methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBT), all within a person-centered framework. Together, we’ll create a safe and non-judgmental space where you feel seen, heard, and supported as we address challenges such as pregnancy and postpartum adjustments, the mental load, anxiety, depression, pregnancy and infant loss, identity transitions, relationship changes, co-parenting, and the distinct experiences of step-parenting.
Through our work, we’ll explore strategies to enhance communication, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience, helping you cultivate a more grounded, mindful approach to parenting. I aim to empower you to foster a family life where you feel strong, connected, and ready to navigate whatever challenges arise with clarity and confidence.

More than My Work
When I am not working with clients, I find a deep sense of ease in activities that help me stay grounded and connected. Whether it's practicing yoga, spending time with my kids and family, immersing myself in a good book, or enjoying the peacefulness of the lake in the mountains, these moments bring me balance and rejuvenation. Exercising also plays a key role in maintaining my own well-being, allowing me to bring my best self into my work with clients.
